MOORHEAD, MN - A Moorhead, MN, couple remains hospitalized after an early morning fire did significant damage to their home on 20th Street north.
Lyle Erickson, 68, was pulled from the home by Moorhead police officers after a 9-1-1 call from a neighbor.
Norma Erickson, 62, made it outside on her own. Both are in critical condition at MeritCare. Four police officers were treated for breathing in smoke.
The fire started in a family room in the basement. A fireplace has been ruled out as the cause. The state fire marshal's office is assisting with the investigation.
