FARGO, ND - North Dakota State University President Joseph Chapman will be leaving campus about a month earlier than he planned.
When Chapman turned in his resignation, he said it was effective Jan. 2. But in a statement Friday, the university said Chapman will stay in office through Nov. 30.
Interim NDSU President Richard Hanson is supposed to take over Dec. 1.
The chancellor of North Dakota`s university system says Chapman will be paid for the month of December. He makes about $34,000 a month in salary.
Chancellor William Goetz says Chapman`s monthly compensation will add up to more than $40,000 when insurance and other benefits are included.
