VOLUNTEER Message Center
Cass County Government will contract for removal of sandbags from rural residences in unincorporated areas of Cass County. Residents of incorporated cities should check with their city officials regarding sandbag pick up. Rural residents will be required to remove sandbag levees and place the sandbags on the public street or end of their driveway in the public right of way. Contractors will not be authorized to enter private property to remove bags.
Pickup of sandbags in areas affected by Red or Wild Rice River flooding will begin the week of March 29'" A second and final pass through the areas affected by Red or Wild Rice River flooding will be made the weekof April 5th.
Pickup of sandbags in areas affected by the Sheyenne, Maple, or Rush Rivers will be scheduled after the ongoing flood threat subsides. Further information will be available regarding these areas at a later date.

CASS COUNTY DOESN’T NEED ANYMORE VOLUNTEERS
FARGO, N.D. (March 17, 2010) – All volunteer shuttle sites are now closed and will remain closed. Sites will not re-open tomorrow, Thursday, March 18. We have reached our goal of filling one million sandbags and volunteers are no longer needed to help place sandbags in neighborhoods. The City of Fargo would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many citizens who took the time to help fill and place sandbags in our community.

CLAY COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS
Moorhead, MN (March 15, 2010) — Clay County Public Health is now recruiting medical professionals and others to volunteer in the event of an emergency. The MN Responds/Medical Reserve Corps recruits medically and non-medically trained volunteers to assist in disaster preparedness and to assure local emergency and public health resources in urgent situations.
To volunteer must be at least 18 years of age.

FARGO SANDBAGGING EFFORTS
GOAL:

WHAT:
Denny's Bucks for Bags-Accumulate 100 hours of volunteer time and $75 will be donated to HERO!
WHERE:
Volunteers should report to the Fargo Coliseum (807 17th Ave N, Fargo). You can also call the volunteer center at 476-4000
Shuttle buses run every half-hour to the city's Garbage Utility building (2301 8th Ave N, Fargo) where sandbags will be filled.
In Moorhead, until 3pm, Monday (3/15), go to the public works building, at 700 15th Avenue North, and after 3pm, report to Nemzek at MSUM.
WHAT TO DO:
When volunteers register to volunteer, simply list HERO as the non-profit you would like to volunteer toward. For every 100 hours of volunteer time, $75 will be donated to HERO.
WHAT TO BRING:
Volunteers will work inside, but should dress for the weather and bring gloves. The American Red Cross and Salvation Army will provide water, snacks and sandwiches.
GROUPS:
Groups of five or more: Call FirstLink at (701) 476-4000 to coordinate times when their efforts can best be put to use. (Individuals and groups less than four can just report to the Fargo Coliseum.)
YOUTH:

Sandbag Delivery to Neighborhoods Begins Today
Cass County is opening its sandbag-filling center. Residents may purchase empty sandbags for a nickel apiece. Filled sandbags will be reserved for sections of the county deemed to be in the most need. The county's sandbag center is in the chase steel building north of the former Highway Host restaurant on 21st street northwest in West Fargo. A 24-hour "help line" has been set up. The number is 297-6000.
The City of Moorhead has recently updated its account with Emergency Communications Network, providers of the CodeRED© high-speed notification solution. This no-charge update will allow message recipients to easily identify calls coming through the system. Message recipient’s Caller ID will read “Emergency Communications Network” or 866-419-5000, depending on local telephone providers. The City’s CodeRED© system will be tested on Monday, March 15th at 10:30 a.m. with a call to all registered phone numbers in the database.
As a new feature, City of Moorhead residents may now simply dial the number displayed on their Caller ID to hear the last message delivered by the City. This enhanced service will offer residents an immediate replay of the message.
The CodeRED© system provides City of Moorhead officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire City. If you are not sure that you are included in the database, simply log on to the City of Moorhead website at www.cityofmoorhead.com and click on the CodeRED© logo.
Residents without Internet access may call Moorhead City Hall at (218) 299-5305 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., to supply their information over the phone. Required information includes first and last name, street address (physical address), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number. Additional phone numbers can be entered as well.
All businesses should register, as well as individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.
Cass County government is holding a flood informational meeting at 7 tonight (Tuesday) at the Harwood Community Center for rural residents north of Fargo-West Fargo. It includes Reed, Raymond, Berlin, Harwood, Wiser Gardner and Noble townships.
