Fargo police are warning residents about a home rental scam.

 

 

 

 

Fargo police are warning residents about a home rental scam.

Deputy Police Chief Pat Claus said a home bought out by the city at 4332 Timberline Dr. for flood mitigation is for sale, not rent.

A citizen told police they found the house for rent online by an individual in California. The individual asked the potential renter to wire him the first month's rent.

Police warn to avoid Internet sales where the only contact is e-mail and requires pre-payment, especially through a wire transfer.
