A Bemidji man is facing felony charges for demanding money in exchange for a stolen cell phone.
The phone was taken during a party. Two days later, the owner's mother received a text message that demanded money for its return. A meeting was arranged. The woman refused to pay up until she was given the name of the person who took the phone.
Police say 19-year-old Joseph Tate pulled a gun during the meeting.
The S.W.A.T. team was activated and Tate was later arrested.
The gun was a BB gun replica of a semi-automatic pistol.
