A fire in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota has closed Wind Cave National Park and resulted in evacuation notices for 240 homes in the path of the blaze.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A fire in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota has closed Wind Cave National Park and resulted in evacuation notices for 240 homes in the path of the blaze.
The Myrtle Fire near Pringle is 7,500 hundred acres, or about 12 square miles, and is 5 percent contained. About 300 firefighters were on the scene Friday morning.
The fire was reported about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Fire information officer Howard Hunter tells South Dakota Public Broadcasting that weather conditions are such that fires can burn rapidly.
Officials say no structures have been lost so far.
