People in the business of building homes are smiling.
Second-quarter building permits in the Fargo area total more than $260 million, the best in five years.
Fargo-Moorhead Homebuilders Association President Terry Becker says permits are up nearly $100 million over a year ago.
Becker says housing starts total 172 in Fargo, 178 in West Fargo and 44 in Moorhead.
He says attractive interest rates and tax break incentives are couple of reasons behind the housing boom.
Homebuilding activity in the F-M area is among the strongest in the country.
