It's been a long time coming, but eight new North Dakota Highway Patrol Troopers are graduating today.
Patrol Commander Col. Jim Prochniak says the class made it through a compressed 20-week training schedule.
The normal training time is 25 weeks:
Most of the new troopers are being assigned to oil country where there's an increased demand for more law enforcement because of the increased influx of people and traffic, especially from heavy trucks.
