Injury Crash on I-94

A spectacular crash on I-94 near the Downer exit near Barnesville last night involving a semi, car and mini-van.

 

 

 

 

There was a spectacular crash on I-94 near the Downer exit near Barnesville last night involving a semi, car and mini-van. Amazingly, only 1 person was injured in the crash that backed up traffic for miles.

A westbound car driven by Douglas Darling, 19, of Devils Lake was changing lanes but didn't see a vehicle in his blind spot. Darling lost control, went through the median and struck the rear trailer tires of a semi that was eastbound. The impact ripped the rear axle off the trailer. Darling's car then struck the eastbound van.

Darling was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. The State Patrol says his injuries were not life-threatening. The family in the van and the semi driver were not hurt.
