MOORHEAD, Minn. - Clay County Attorney Brian Melton is speaking publicly for the first time about his eight-month ordeal involving a brain tumor and encephalitis.
Melton has been on medical leave for the past eight months. He got sick while serving with the Minnesota National Guard in Kuwait. Melton tells KFGO News that after several hospital stays and medical tests, he says his health is improving and looks forward to getting back to work. Melton says, “I feel great about everything, I feel great about being a part of this community.”
Melton says doctors at the mayo clinic are monitoring his tumor. Doctors have told him the tumor will most likely have to be removed because of potential complications.
Melton returns to work next Monday.
