FARGO - Clay County authorities have wrapped up their investigation into the death of Jared Nilles of Fargo. The 27-year-old's body was found along some railroad tracks east of Glyndon in March.
Nilles was a passenger on the Empire Builder train which was headed from Fargo to Chicago.
Clay County Sheriff's Lt. Steve Landsem says foul play was not involved, and says he believes it was a tragic accident.
An autopsy found his blood alcohol level was .37. It's believed that he opened a door of the train and fell out. No one witnessed his fall.
Amtrak law enforcement and Minnesota and North Dakota crime agents, BCA and BCI, assisted with the investigation by interviewing passengers and members of the train crew.
