A 40-year-old man was killed when his van careened into a ravine just east of the Kindred exit on Interstate 94 Saturday around 11:20 p.m. He has now been identified as Jeremy Rader of Casselton.
Sgt. Troy Hischer with the North Dakota Highway Patrol says Rader was driving west on the interstate when he entered the median. His van continued at a high rate of speed through the median until it vaulted into the ravine.
Hischer says witnesses who saw the crash immediately ran to remove Rader from his vehicle, though he was found dead from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Once Rader was removed, Hischer says his van started on fire. Fire crews were on hand not long after that to put out the flames.
Hischer says alcohol was not involved in this crash. He says it looks like Rader may have had a medical problem.
