GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The family of the late University of North Dakota benefactor Ralph Engelstad is contributing to another hockey arena in Grand Forks, if other donors respond.
The Ralph and Betty Engelstad Family Foundation has committed to a $500,000 matching grant for a planned $7 million youth arena. The foundation stipulates that a matching $500,000 needs to be raised by June 30 for its gift to go into effect.
Engelstad is a former UND goalie whose donations to the school included $104 million for a hockey arena that bears his name.
The foundation doesn't want naming rights for the youth hockey arena.
