Newborn Son Of Former Twins Pitcher Dies

(Undated) - Former Twins pitcher and Minnesota native Pat Neshek is mourning the death of his newborn son. Neshek announced on his Twitter account that he and his wife lost Gehrig John Neshek just 23 hours after his birth.

Neshek left the Oakland A's Tuesday to be with Stephanee in Florida when she went into labor. He was not with the team as Oakland won the American League West title Wednesday night.

Neshek grew up in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park and graduated from Park Center High School. He was a relief pitcher for the Twins from 2006-2010.
