Neighbors near the Fargo Country Club got quite the wake-up call late Saturday night.
FARGO - Neighbors near the Fargo Country Club got quite the wake-up call late Saturday night. A soaking wet man appeared at their door after police say he submerged his truck in a pond at the golf course.
Police said 20-year-old Timothy Celander did not cooperate at first when asked what happened.
Celander drove over some holes on the course before driving straight into the water. He said three others were with him.
Not knowing if anyone was inside the truck or in the pond, extra precautions were taken.
Fargo Fire Department Assistant Chief Leroy Skarloken, said, "The pickup was pulled out of the water, and Valley Dive Rescue was called in to use their sonar robot to search the rest of the pond in case somebody had come out of the pickup and was still in the pond."
Police also said they do not believe anyone else was with Celander. He was under the influence of a narcotic at the time.
Celander is facing a list of charges including: DUI, Giving False Information to Law Enforcement and Giving a False ID. He may also face charges for the damage he caused on the golf course.
