A number of schools in Fargo on Friday morning were locked down because a prisoner, Francisco Ayala, escaped while being loaded for transport from the Cass County Courthouse.

A number of schools in Fargo on Friday morning were locked down because a prisoner, Francisco Ayala, escaped while being loaded for transport from the Cass County Courthouse in downtown Fargo.
Ayala was located in an apartment at 1114 2nd Ave S in Fargo and taken into custody by the Cass County Sheriff's Office and Fargo Police Department.
The lockdown involved: Clara Barton, Hawthorne and Jefferson Elementaries, Carl Ben Eielson Middle School and Woodrow Wilson High School. The lockdowns were ordered as a precaution until the escaped prisoner could be located.
