Moorhead residents may notice a slight change in the smell and taste of their water, but the water is still safe to drink. The city is switching its supply source from the Red River to the Buffalo aquifer the next three-weeks so work can be done on the river pumping station.
The DNR will at the same time study how the aquifer would respond to a long-term drought.
