A packed Civic Center as U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp welcomed former President Bill Clinton to Fargo.
Clinton, who last visited the state for the state democratic convention in Grand Forks in March, says he knows Heitkamp well going back to her days as attorney general. He told the partisan crowd, she wouldn't be a rubber stamp in Washington.
Clinton criticized republican Rick Berg for not doing more to get a farm bill through the house and offering no alternatives to the federal health care law. Berg's campaign says the Clinton appearance shows that she'd be nothing more than a rubber stamp for the agenda of democrats.
