Moorhead Police Department's Youth Services Coordinator Receives award

State recognition for the man in charge of the Moorhead Police Department's Juvenile Community Service Program.

 

Louis Ochoa received the "Program Leadership Award" from the Minnesota Youth Intervention Programs Association.

Ochoa works with at-risk kids, and supervises those on community service as they remove graffiti, and clean up parks, ditches, and other public spaces.

 

Supervisors say Ochoa does an outstanding job mentoring the kids and helping them take pride in giving back to the community. They say youth intervention works and saves the city money.
