North Dakota native Kelly Maixner has finished the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska in 31st place.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota native Kelly Maixner has finished the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Alaska in 31st place.
The Golva native who now lives in Alaska crossed the finish line in Nome just before 8 a.m. local time Thursday, with nine dogs left out of his original team of 16.
Sixty-six teams started the 998-mile race on March 2. Mainer completed the race in about 9 days.
It was his third Iditarod. His previous finishes were 30th and 32nd.
