WAUBAY, S.D. (AP) - A 38-year-old Waubay man died when his vehicle collided with a train in the northeastern South Dakota town.
The Highway Patrol says Jason Campbell's vehicle slid on the icy roadway Wednesday afternoon and into the path of the BNSF Railway train. He put the vehicle in reverse but was unable to back clear of the tracks in time.
Campbell was taken to a hospital in Webster and later transferred to one in Fargo, N.D., where he died.
