High Speed Chase And Arrest In Richland County

A driver who fled a traffic stop west of Wahpeton led a deputy on a 30 mile chase on backroads that hit speeds close to 80 mph before the pickup crossed into South Dakota and the pursuit was called off.

 

 

 

 

A driver who fled a traffic stop west of Wahpeton led a deputy on a 30 mile chase on backroads that hit speeds close to 80 mph before the pickup crossed into South Dakota and the pursuit was called off.

Richand County Sheriff Larry Leshovsky says within a couple of hours, Wahpeton police spotted the vehicle in a convenience store parking lot, boxed it in, and arrested the driver, Derek Paulsrud, 18, of Hillsboro for fleeing.
