A man is in the Clay County Jail for causing a disturbance at a Moorhead homeless shelter Friday night and then trying to go for a joy ride in a stolen bus.
Jack Christensen is accused of taking a YMCA bus left running in the parking lot outside Churches United For The Homeless. He fled on foot after getting the bus stuck in a snowbank next to the shelter, causing minor damage to the bus. Two passengers on board managed to get out before Christensen drove off.
Christensen was arrested in a nearby apartment building where he was pounding on doors yelling to be let in.
He is being held on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, urinating in public and an enhanced D-W-I charge stemming from at least two prior D-W-I convictions in Minnesota. Christensen has no permanent address.
