Snow and icy roads are making travel hazardous in parts of western North Dakota.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Snow and icy roads are making travel hazardous in parts of western North Dakota.

The state Transportation Department has issued a travel alert for the central and northwest part of the state, saying motorists can still travel but should use caution.

A no-travel advisory for Williams, Divide and McKenzie counties as well as the city of Minot and surrounding areas was lifted Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for northwest and north central North Dakota due to snow, sleet and freezing rain. Snow could accumulate in the north central and northeastern parts of the state.

Forecasters say the southwest and south central regions could get rain, freezing rain and sleet. Snow also is falling in some areas.
