Officer Shot And Killed In Cold Spring, Mn.

A police officer from central Minnesota was shot and killed late last night while performing a welfare check.

(Cold Spring, Mn) -- A police officer from central Minnesota was shot and killed late last night while performing a welfare check.

Reports say the shooting happened above a bar in Cold Spring and police later arrested a suspect they think lived there.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect or the officer.

Much of Cold Spring was shut down last night as authorities searched for the shooter.

More details are due out this morning.
