A series of weather systems will move across the region this weekend. The first system will bring a band of 1 to 2 inches of snow Saturday from the Devils Lake to Langdon and Pembina areas. Meanwhile, a stronger low will move across South Dakota into Eastern Minnesota Saturday night into Sunday with the potential for heavier snow to Southeastern North Dakota, Northeastern South Dakota into much of Central into Northeastern Minnesota where a variety of watches and warnings are in effect for Saturday night into Sunday.
2 to 5 inches of snow is possible in the Fargo, Moorhead, Grand Forks and Detroit lakes area's. 4 to 8 inches of snow is possible with higher totals possible from the Sisseton Hills to Alexandria toward Duluth. Winds will be an issue later Saturday night into Sunday causing blowing and drifting snow as north winds increase to 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts especially over the Southern Red River Valley.
