Breckenridge Man To Face Multiple Charges Following Chase And Crash

A Breckenridge man will be turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service following his arrest at the conclusion of a high speed police pursuit through Breckenridge and Wahpeton.

A Breckenridge man will be turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service following his arrest at the conclusion of a high speed police pursuit through Breckenridge and Wahpeton.

Andrew Laborico, 23, was wanted on a federal gun charge. He was spotted in Wahpeton where the chase began. Breckenridge Police Chief Nate Harder says public safety is always a consideration, but they continued the pursuit because Laborico was armed and presented a risk to public safety. Speeds reached about 80 miles-an-hour during the 10-minute chase. Laborico jumped from his car on railroad property on the east side of Breckenridge where he was chased down on foot.

Chief Harder's SUV hit a power pole as the pursuit ended. He and two drug agents were not hurt.

Laborico tossed cash from the car during the chase. It's believed most of the money was recovered. A loaded handgun was discovered in the car.
