Police Chase Ends In Rescue

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jerrid Maes of Lajunta, Colorado, nearly crashed into a pickup before slamming into Mid-America Steel in downtown Fargo.

A dramatic rescue following a high speed police pursuit that started in Moorhead and ended in Fargo early Friday.

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jerrid Maes of Lajunta, Colorado, nearly crashed into a pickup before slamming into Mid-America Steel in downtown Fargo. The car became wedged between the building and a light pole. Meas fled on foot.  He tried to cross the river but fell through thin ice and had to be pulled out by police.

Maes is in the Clay County Jail facing a number of charges in Moorhead. He's also expected to face some charges in Fargo.
