NEW LONDON, Minn. (AP) - A 38-year-old bicyclist killed after being hit by a semi on a dark central Minnesota highway is a teacher at a high school.
Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa wrestling coach and math teacher Richard Vos died in the collision at about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 71 in Kandiyohi County.
In a posting on its blog, the school's booster club said Vos started as a teacher at the school in 1998 and was an assistant varsity wrestling coach until 2001, when he took over as head coach.
According to the State Patrol, the semi and Vos were both traveling south near County Road 34.
The semi driver was identified as a 50-year-old man from Belgrade.
