The North Dakota Racing Commission is pleased with the two weekends of races held at the North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo in July - and they hope they can expand the meet for the summer of 2013.
The Horse Park was shut down for two years while it worked out of financial problems.
Thursday, track operators proposed four weekends of racing next summer.
Commission Chair Jim Ozbun believes there will be funding available to cover 3 weekends of racing. He says that will depend on funding.
The Racing Commission will make that decision in February after funding levels are known.
