It's called "Project Home". A Minnesota faith-based non-profit group called "My Fathers House" has partnered with the Jail Chaplains Ministry to lease a three-bedroom duplex at 1316 3rd Ave. N. in Fargo that will be home to three felons leaving local jails. One of the residents will also serve as the home supervisor.
Nancy Schafer of Fargo, Chair of Jail Chaplains Board says those living in the home will be required to pay a portion of the rent. All costs are covered locally. Donations of cash, materials and labor will cover upgrades and other expenses.
The home is expected to be ready this Saturday
"My Fathers House" has helped establish similar homes in 25 locations across Minnesota.
