BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is urging deer hunters to consider helping out the Sportsmen Against Hunger program this fall.

The charitable program raises money for the processing of donated deer, and coordinates the distribution of ground venison to food pantries across the state. It is administered by Community Action Partnership, which serves low-income families.

Game and Fish says that while this year's deer proclamation allows for only one deer gun license per hunter, families with more than one license should consider donating a deer to the cause.
