Vice President Joe Biden made his first gaffe of the new year Thursday.  It happened during the ceremonial swearing-in of Senator Heidi Heitkamp.

Biden's remarks were directed at Heitkamp's husband, Darwin Lange. Biden said “Spread you legs, you’re gonna be frisked.”

The Heitkamp family was posing for photos with Biden. The video that captured the incident has gone viral.
