A man accused of trying to kill his apartment roommate in Grand Forks is on trial for attempted murder.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A man accused of trying to kill his apartment roommate in Grand Forks is on trial for attempted murder.
Twenty-seven-year-old Travis Samshal is accused of firing a hunting rifle at 35-year-old Leo Franco on Dec. 14, 2011. Samshal's attorney on Tuesday said Franco had made unwanted sexual advances toward Samshal. Franco denied the allegation.
Samshal could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder, or up to five years if convicted of reckless endangerment.
