Man Pleads Guilty In Killing Of 2 Elk In SD Park

A Keystone man has pleaded guilty in the illegal killing of two bull elk in Wind Cave National Park in southwestern South Dakota.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Keystone man has pleaded guilty in the illegal killing of two bull elk in Wind Cave National Park in southwestern South Dakota.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Tim Burke, 47, helped another person kill the animals in late January.

Burke pleaded guilty in federal court to unlawful taking of wildlife. He faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced Jan. 11.
