Michigan Tech Stuns North Dakota, Extends Playoff

C.J. Eick's goal late in the third period lifted Michigan Tech over North Dakota 2-1 Saturday and forced a third game in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoff Series.

Grand Forks, N.D. (AP)  C.J. Eick's goal late in the third period lifted Michigan Tech over North Dakota 2-1 Saturday and forced a third game in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoff Series.
 
Game three will be played Sunday with the winner moving on to the final five. North Dakota won the opener 5-3.
 
Tanner Kero gave the Huskies (13-19-4) a 1-0 lead 20 seconds into the second period. The lead lasted until 14:57 of the third period when Danny Kristo scored to tie the game.
 
Clarke Saunders made 29 saves for North Dakota, with a high of 11 in the second period. Michigan tech outshot North Dakota by 31.
 
Huskies goalie Pheonix Copley made 29 saves.
