Fargo School District employees will see a significant cut in the amount of payouts they receive from a sick leave program over the next couple of years.

After a nearly two hour debate, the school board voted 7-2 to reduce payments to what's called a "longevity policy" for long term employees.

Teachers are rewarded $200 for every day of sick leave they don't use.

The board agreed to drop the pay from $200 per day to just $50 by the 2016-2017 school year.

The teachers union is upset, saying they were promised they'd be able keep the plan.

Teachers say this has created some bad faith, just in time for new contract negotiations.
