Shirvani Asks That Money Be Restored To Budget

North Dakota University System Chancellor Ham Shirvani made his budget pitch to a subcommittee of House Appropriations.

Shirvani says he and the Board of Higher Education support Governor Dalrymple’s recommendation for higher ed – and would like the House to restore some of the cuts the Senate made to it – specifically, removing nine new central office positions for auditing and oversight. Shirvani says the system needs someone who can oversee capital construction projects.

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Environment and Education will be looking at the budget. It will make a recommendation to the full committee before it gets to the House floor.
