ST. PAUL, Minn. - Governor Dayton unveils his revised state budget Wednesday and he is *dropping* his proposed sales tax changes.

The governor's original proposal to extend the sales tax to high-priced clothing and to business services received lukewarm support at best from democrats, and with the latest forecast showing a drop in the budget deficit, it lost even more momentum.

Dayton backed away from his business-to-business sales tax plan saying it's not fair to tax consumers if we're not taxing businesses. But the governor says a top-bracket income tax increase remains in his revised budget plan, plus a tobacco tax increase -- but property tax rebates appear questionable.
