ND Commission To Fund Flood Protection Study

Governor Jack Dalrymple says the State Water Commission will cover the $45,000 cost of a study for a flood protection project along the Souris River.

 

 

 

 

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Governor Jack Dalrymple says the State Water Commission will cover the $45,000 cost of a study for a flood protection project along the Souris River.

The study is required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help determine if the federal government will share in the costs of permanent flood protection for the city of Minot and surrounding areas

The Souris River flooded more than 4,000 homes and businesses in the summer of 2011.
