GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - One of three people accused of pimping a 17-year-old girl in Grand Forks has rejected a plea deal offered by prosecutors and will take his case to trial.
Thirty-year-old Travis Johnson also is charged with felony corruption of a minor for allegedly having sex with the girl.
Johnson announced in court on Thursday that he was turning down the plea deal, without saying why. Two others charged in the case, 22-year-old Amanda Stewart and 27-year-old Joshua Harry, have taken deals offered by prosecutors, pleading guilty to lesser felonies to get reduced prison time. They also must testify against Johnson.
Harry is to be sentenced April 8 and Stewart on April 15.
