Detroit Lakes Police Officer Resigns After Being Charged With Crime

A Detroit Lakes Police Officer has resigned after being charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

 

 

 

 

A Detroit Lakes Police Officer has resigned after being charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

In August, Becker County Deputies responded to a home near Shell Lake on a report of shots fired. They were told Matthew Brun, who had left, was drunk and possibly suicidal. When officers found him, they noticed bullet holes in the door of his pickup. A television inside the home had also been shot out.

Brun had been a Detroit Lakes Police Officer since 2006.
