CARLTON, Minn. (AP) -Court records indicate a 25-year-old northeastern Minnesota woman was likely killed for her car.

Cristyna Watson had been missing for nearly a month before her body was found in a swampy wooded area near Cloquet on Oct. 4.

Police say the girlfriend of the man suspected of killing Watson said her boyfriend lured the woman to a garage to get some drugs and then hit her on the head with a hammer to take her car, then choked her and disposed of her body.

Carlton County Attorney Thom Pertier says he plans to file charges Thursday against a 22-year-old Duluth man who was arrested on an unrelated crime several hours before Watson's body was found.

Watson's Pontiac Grand Prix was found outside a Ramsey County bar.
