A Barnesville area woman who was sentenced to nearly four years in prison for starting a rash of fires is appealing her conviction.

A Clay County jury convicted Tara Andvik of three counts of felony arson. One of the fires destroyed Andvik's home. Andvik later admitted she started the fires and apologized at her sentencing hearing in June.

Andvik was ordered to serve 46 months in prison and pay more than $13,000 in restitution.

Andvik's case is being handled by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
