The Fargo Police Department is looking to hire a crime stats analyst to chart property crimes and crashes.
Police Chief Keith Ternes says with a growing city, adding officers isn't the only answer to fighting crime rates.
The key is using them efficiently and proactively.
He says the new position should help officers be in the right place at the right time.
The department is still taking applications through tomorrow.
45 people have applied so far.
Chief Ternes hopes to have a person starting by mid-January.
