Much of the region was blanketed by a couple of inches of snow to welcome in Christmas Eve.

Most roads are snow covered with some finger and pillow drifts.

Roads are in fair driving condition over eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota.

Bitter cold is settling in behind the snow: a "Wind Chill Advisory" will be posted from 6:00 tonight until noon tomorrow.

Winds, combined with the cold air will create wind chills of 25 to 30 below.
