Grief Counselor On Hand For New Town Community

A grief counselor who has provided support to a Minnesota reservation following a deadly shooting spree and victims of the Oklahoma City bombing is now in New Town to help community members deal with the death of four residents.

 

 

 

 

NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - A grief counselor who has provided support to a Minnesota reservation following a deadly shooting spree and victims of the Oklahoma City bombing is now in New Town to help community members deal with the death of four residents.

Jacqueline Gray has been on hand since Wednesday offering grief support following the deaths of 64-year-old Martha Johnson and three of her grandchildren: 13-year-old Benjamin Schuster, 10-year-old Julia Schuster and 6-year-old Luke Schuster.

Gray is associate director of indigenous programs at the Center for Rural Health and the Department of Pathology at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Gray previously offered grief counseling at the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota 2005 after a deadly shooting and in Oklahoma City.
