Downtown businesses helping the Great Plains Food Bank with a fund raiser got stung by a crook.
One of the shoppers at the "Cheer-ity" event in downtown Fargo last Thursday night was writing hundreds of dollars worth of bad checks at businesses up and down broadway.
Proper & Prim Clothing Boutique caught who they think is the culprit on surveillance camera.
The woman made off with lots of merchandise, before employees discovered what she was doing.
The store called other businesses to tell them not to take checks from the woman with hot pink hair, but many said they already had.
Police have a identified a suspect but there's been no arrest yet.
It's believed the woman has been passing bogus checks all over Fargo since October.
This is the third charity event that's been stolen from in recent weeks.
The first was a theft of donation money from a "Bras On Broadway" event; the second was missing money from a fundraiser for a local skateboarder.
