A West Fargo businessman and landlord has been ordered to begin serving his two-year prison sentence for aggravated assault.

Al Vetter had been free pending the outcome of his appeal to the North Dakota Supreme Court. The court upheld the conviction last week.

Vetter was found guilty of running over a former tenant with his large SUV. The jury decided that the vehicle, a "Hummer," could be considered a deadly weapon. Vetter claimed self-defense.

Vetter collapsed during a court hearing where a judge ordered that he start to serve the time. His bond was revoked.
