Walaker Believes Meeting With Upstream Representatives Was Productive

Representatives of Fargo, Cass County and the Diversion Authority met this week with leaders of Oxbow and the surrounding area to discuss the Corps of Engineers-sponsored study that could save many homes from the affects of the proposed Red River Diversion.

Mayor Dennis Walaker says he thinks it was a productive meeting.

Representatives of Fargo, Cass County and the Diversion Authority met this week with leaders of Oxbow and the surrounding area to discuss the Corps of Engineers-sponsored study that could save many homes from the affects of the proposed Red River Diversion.

At one point, the corps had proposed buyouts of all homes in Oxbow, Hickson and Bakke subdivision.

Walaker is attending a water conference in Bismarck. His comments were made on KFGO News & Views.
